Now lets get down to business ...

As every website and every business has different requirements, I will provide a tailor made quote for your project.
For example, it may be that you are happy to supply all of the images and already have a logo. If not, no problem, I have access to image libraries and I have also designed many logos (please contact me for examples). The number of pages and the type of graphics and animation will also be taken into consideration.

After an initial design meeting, I usually provide three mock-ups for each project - each consisting of a different look and feel for your site. You can then decide which one you prefer and can even mix and match different elements from each design to come up with a final revised mock-up if you wish. However, if your budget is limited, and I understand that if you are starting a new business then this may well be the case, then I can produce just one mock-up. This obviously saves you money but limits your design choices.

As a rough idea, a five page website with one mock-up would be around £520.

I do not tie you into a hosting package and will leave you free to shop around (this is definitely one advantage of using a freelancer). Of course, I am happy to recommend a hosting provider and guide you through the process if you would like.

Keeping it simple

The process from start to finish.

1. The Brief
We will discuss all of your needs and requirements for the project either over the phone, by email or face-to-face if you are within a reasonable distance from Winchester. This initial meeting is free of charge and afterwards I will be able to provide you with a formal quote.

2. The Design
Assuming you are happy with my quote we will move on to the design stage. I am now able to start designing your website and will provide you with 1, 2 or 3 mock-ups (depending on what we decided at The Brief stage). Your website is on its way to being built.

3. The Build
Once you are happy and have signed off the design I will then start turning the mock-up into working web pages. I will need to have all of your text in by this stage so that I can build each page (if you would like some help with the writing I can put you in contact with a very good writer). I will send you a link so that you can keep an eye on how the website is progressing.

4. Final Checks and Launch!
Once the site is complete, I will give you a week to make any minor text tweaks. During the build phase, I constantly check for bugs and browser compatibility, so changes should really be minimal. Once the week is up, and all changes have been agreed and made, the site will be made live for you.

Updates and Maintenance
We can arrange this on a regular basis or just as and when you require it. You would just pay me for the time I spend updating your site, rather than a fixed amount every month. Alternatively, if there are pages that you know you will be updating on a very regular basis, we could use a content management system which will allow you to do the updates yourself.
